Most of us probably don't bring up gross topics whenever we eat. You will rarely hear someone tell a story about their shitting experience for the simple reason of it sucks out the appetite.

Ironic it is, Shenzhen's has its own restaurant - bizzarre restaurant - that serves food on a toilet plate. Meaning, everything you will see and experience in this restaurant is found at your most private and comforting place in your home.

A few months ago, Yahoo! featured Modern Toilet and lined this resto up to one of the weirdest restaurant in the world to visit. I felt "proud" because I dined here already with my sister. Hehehe.

So how did we discover this lovely comforting resto. Toilet bowls exposed from the outside and bathrobes hanged unto the walls for every window shopper like me to see and try. We were not absolutely sure if our stomachs can take it, but we were hungry, amused and tried it anyway.

As we went inside, the waiter assisted us to their covered toilet bowls where you will be seated. I am glad that the toilet cover was not open.. or else.

We were all giggly while selecting our orders from the menu. Delicious and happy it is, eh? hahaha. We both ended up ordering the classic milk tea served in a shaped-like urinal glass.

Sister and urinal glasses. So wrong combination.

My sister ordered for a pasta and I ordered rice mixed with corn, beans and leaves on a pineapple fruit. Pretty normal and I liked the presentation.

Our stomachs were still strong so we've decided to order an ice-cream shaped like feces with wafer. It is chocolate and yummy. hahaha!

The odd but nice dining experience costs us around 100 RMB. When converted to peso, it is around 650 pesos. As a rule when you are in a different country, do not convert!

Overall, the taste of the food was not something special but the interior design concept that is. Just like any other tourist, we merrily took a picture of ourselves and reenact our daily comforting pose. Too much information. Hehe.

Saya nito i-caption. Hehe.

I'm about to go on an international trip next week and these are now the days I am most alert. I have to get ready with everything. The important must secure are the contents of your luggage, documents (tickets, passport )and money, of course.

I am a different person when I travel. I am totally obsessive-compulsive to every document signed or handed to me. Everything goes to the brown envelope with plastic.  The passport, travel tax receipt, boarding pass, hotel bookings, tickets, pen, etc. All of these are important and must not be lost during your trip.

So... the brown envelope with plastic is not exactly a thing you would carry around the airport. Parang mag-aapply lang ng trabaho hahaha. I believe you can still keep the documents intact in your bag or purse. But everything is fast phasing when you travel, luggages are heavy and things can be misplaced. Fortunately, I was able to stumble upon a group buying site www.okayokay.com where they sell some nifty practical items for an affordable price.

Travelus Handy Passport Holder 2012 Edition for 385 pesos. It holds the essentials, your passport, enough money, credit cards, passes, etc. Free delivery around Metro Manila and purchased mine today. Excited!!

Notice the little airplane detail. Cute. :D

Besides being organized with your papers and passport, securing your luggages are crucial. The risk of letting go to hands of unknown and cases of theft are the worst scenarios you might encounter.

To be 100% sure and safe, here are some handful tips I came up with. With the help of observation and experiences, of course. :)

1. Padlocks. Buy padlocks that can secure the zippers. Be sure to secure every zipper from your luggage. Small objects, like drugs or sharp objects, can be inserted inside your bag and luggages. Do not buy cheap plastic padlocks used for notebooks / diaries (haha). If you are going to buy luggages, refrain from buying those bags with a lot of compartments.

2. Ribbons. To the luggage claiming area, have you noticed that there were luggages that has ribbons tied on it. Well, luggages can be "generic" and your bag might be similar to any passenger. Bag tags can be removed or lost but ribbons are difficult to remove, depends upon how it is tied. The ribbons are as simple as an identification of your bags, just "more gay" than the rest. hehe.

3. Do not buy designer / too expensive luggages. I really don't recommend buying designer bags or anything you consider more valuable than your life. Your bag will not receive any kind of special treatment. It would be thrown carelessly among the rest of the bags. Buy luggages that are sturdy enough for more future travels.

4. Lastly, know the rules beforehand on what to and not to bring. My favorite and expensive umbrella was confiscated because it is considered a "weapon". The 200 ml limit on liquids too are still implemented until today.

I  am sure there are countless of things to remember during your trip. It's better to be cautious about these things to prevent hassles. Share more if you have any.

Have a nice and safe trip!

I volunteered to become a photographer for a day for U! Happy Events last June 30, 2012 at Quezon City Memorial Circle. It was attended by kuyas, ates, and children volunteers to share their time, energy and happiness to 150 kids of Payatas. Their theme is U! Can Kids Carnival and I was excited since I'm expecting lot of energy and colorful setup. :D

Each kid was paired up to assigned volunteers and it's their job to accompany their kid partner to visit booths for some games and treats.

I personally like the cupcake and cookie decorating booth. It looks so delicious and I was not surprised when the booth was crowded by  a lot of kiddos. iACADEMY employees and students were also present there, my former employer, to teach some art and coloring. There were also activities such as ball throwing, chemical mixing, mini golf playing, face painting and whole lot more.

What comes into your mind when there's a "carnival"? Acrobats, costumes, clowns, and magic! I think I would have to watch Madagascar 3 again hehe. Afro circus! Afro circus!

There's one booth where the kids should complete this sentence, "I want to be..." and I wish these kids achieve their dreams someday. :)

Kids happily assisted by kid, ate and kuya volunteers :)

Major Group Shot!
